I'm a fall 2013 transfer applicant for computer science. I just got an email requesting me to submit course syllabi for most of the classes i've taken ar my current school "in order to make a decision on the transferability and any possible articulated equivalencies of your coursework to Illinois courses."

It also says things like "An articulation decision will be made based on the information you have provided for each of the courses submitted and that articulation decision will be binding. A new transfer evaluation will be created and the new articulation results will be added to your academic record. You and your college office Admissions Officer will be contacted at the same time."

Does the fact that I got this email mean i've been admitted, or are they just trying to decide if I have the proper prerequisites to be admitted?

I think this means you are close to being accepted but I don’t think you should expect that’s the case. Just be patient. I hope you make it in though! CS is fun here!

Looks like it means they are unfamiliar with your colleges courses and are trying to determine whether the hours will transfer. They are trying to determine (1) how many transferable hours you have completed to determine how heavily to weigh your high school record. They are also trying to determine whether you meet the required transfer prerequisites. I don’t believe it means they are either close to admitting you or denying you admittance to CS.

It seems like you’ve been accepted, although it’s possible you could’ve also been selected for another major. When I got my acceptance packet they also sent along an unofficial transcript detailing how my classes transferred, which is why I assume you were accepted.
