Decision: Admit

Alright..

I applied Regular

I sent my application in on Dec 13, my transcripts were received Dec 14, and my SAT scores were received Dec 16.

Yesterday, my application status, according to the summary page, was something like "ready for review". You guys should know what I'm talking about.

I checked today, and the Status section was gone, and instead it said:

Decision: Admit

What the heck does that mean?

It's only been 2 days, there's no way they'd have read my stuff and decided.
I can't imagine.

I applied to LAS math, 1490 SAT and in top 10%.

Any ideas?

It means you need to brush up on your understanding of the English language. "Admit" is the common word used to mean you're in. Fat envelope will arrive in about a week (maybe a bit longer because of holidays).

Jesus christ.

My day has been made.

Thank you, though I won't believe it till I see the envelope haha.. thanks

Wait, is this what you're talking about??

Application Data
Admit Term: Fall 2005 - Urbana-Champaign
Admit Type: Regular Admission
Decision: Admit
Level: Undergrad - Urbana-Champaign
Degree: Bachelor of Science
College: Engineering
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Date Created: Nov 29, 2004

I never really noticed that before... so that means i'm in???

That's what mine says..

the guy says it means we're in.

It was awfully quick for a regular admission, don't you think?

i think its reasonable because your stats are good. haha i didnt believe what it said online either until i actually got the fat envelope in the mail =] congratz!

Yup, you're in! Congradulations! I know the doubtful feelings but yes, you are in. LAS is usually the quickest at responding

LAS took forever on me. I almost gave up on them, but Illinois is too awesome to give up on.

Jer0d

Yeap you guys are in! Congrats!

How many of you are pretty positive that you are going to attend the great UIUC ?

Jer0d

I'm almost 80% positive.. either this or University of Florida, which I can attend for nearly no cost. But UIUC > UF.

Yo...I'm in as "admit," so I guess that's good...

I applied to LAS physics and ENG nuclear engineering, with a minor in Spanish.

awesomeness

I thought we couldn't declare minors or double majors yet?

well...I told them that I plan on double majoring, but I applied to LAS physics because I figure it's easier to get into than engineering, especially since my math score was only a 29...

That's my plan, sort of..

I applied into Mathematics becaues it's really easy. Then I may double with some sort of Engineering.

They let you in quickly because the majority of their admissions decisions are made by computer. If the combination of your class rank and SAT score are greater than a certain cutoff, you're automatically admitted with a brief glance at everything else.

Not that it really matters, but does anyone know the auto-admit cut off numbers or whatever ?

Jer0d

If your decision has said complete - ready for review for a month (since nov 18th) does that mean you are not in?

No, plus, that's only your status - Not the decision

if you don't get in..... will it say admission denied or something or will u have to wait for the dreaded letter
