I sent my application in on Dec 13, my transcripts were received Dec 14, and my SAT scores were received Dec 16.

Yesterday, my application status, according to the summary page, was something like "ready for review". You guys should know what I'm talking about.

I checked today, and the Status section was gone, and instead it said:

Decision: Admit

What the heck does that mean?

It's only been 2 days, there's no way they'd have read my stuff and decided.
I can't imagine.

I applied to LAS math, 1490 SAT and in top 10%.

It means you need to brush up on your understanding of the English language. "Admit" is the common word used to mean you're in. Fat envelope will arrive in about a week (maybe a bit longer because of holidays).

i think its reasonable because your stats are good. haha i didnt believe what it said online either until i actually got the fat envelope in the mail =] congratz!

well...I told them that I plan on double majoring, but I applied to LAS physics because I figure it's easier to get into than engineering, especially since my math score was only a 29...

They let you in quickly because the majority of their admissions decisions are made by computer. If the combination of your class rank and SAT score are greater than a certain cutoff, you're automatically admitted with a brief glance at everything else.
