So I just got accepted to FSU's Summer Bridge Program, so what should I do next? Should I apply for housing? If so, is there a specific way that I do that? Should I also complete the FSU Summer Financial Form as soon as possible?

yes… and yes… Your housing is automatically Landis for the summer though so you can’t pick.

Hey congrats, I’ve been accepted as well. You Should definitely go ahead and do fall housing. Even though were in CARE and are automatically in Landis during the summer we still have to do an application for summer housing. But that isn’t available until February 9. And if you got accepted into CARE you already did tue Summer financial form. The 2010-2011 FASFA form is connected with summer 2011. It’s the 2011-2012 form for fall and spring you should be focusing on. Again congrats and good luck! P.S- don’t forget to send in your participation agreement, and register for orientation. :)

Quick question, I understand that there is an required orientation for all CARE participation on June 19th, so does that mean that I only have to register for that one or do I also have to register for the one that regular students go through for the summer term?

You just have to register for the CARE orientation. When you turn in your participation agrrement, you will automatically be registered for orientation by CARE. Because its the same orientation as the regular summer students orientation; just designed especially for CARE students, theres no reason to apply to two orientation. Plus CARE pays for our orientation. Hope that answers you question. :)

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to say you shouldn’t bother since you can’t pick where you want to live. To clarify, the first “yes” was that you should apply for housing. Priority numbers are really high right now though but you have a good chance of getting into a decent dorm since a lot of admits still have yet to come.

quick question canwe apply for the fall housing now

Yes, CARE students can apply for Fall 2011 housing now. Send in your CARE participation agreement first so that you can be charged the reduced CARE housing deposit rather than the regular $225.

In regards to your question about whether CARE students are required to sign up for regular summer orientation, the answer is yes.
I had the same question a few ago, so i called the school and had it clarified.

Really? So do I have to pay the $90 price for it too. Ugh that’s going to suck.

If that’s true then I guess it’s changed since last year. Theirs was free and separate.

^ I thought it was free as well until the orientation office called and said I still have to pay even though I’m in CARE and our orientation is separate. I was really surprised because I could’ve sworn CARr said we were automatically registered for orientation once we sent in our participation agreement.

Could someone tell me how I sign up for the Summer Housing for CARE. I cannot find the link anywhere. I found this http://www.housing.fsu.edu/housing/ungrad/care.html but it doesn’t have any paper to register.

go to housing.fsu.edu and then to the right it says apply here. click on that and you’ll see C.A.R.E aggrement and you’ll download the pdf file and turn it in…

or
i can just give you the url:

http://www.housing.fsu.edu/housing/ungrad/CareAgreement2011.pdf

lol :D

Ok whooo… too confusing just got off the phone with a C.A.R.E representative…welll a couple of hours ago but what Fsubound said at the beginning was correct. Once you turn in your participation agreement you are automatically signed up for orientation and that’s it.

I don’t really know where all these different ideas our coming from but FSU representatives need to get their facts straight and stop confusing us.

but yes. once you turn in your participation agreement you have signed up for orientation

^Thats what I thought too, but FSU Housing called me and said although we are automatically registered we still have to pay for orientation. I walike WHAT!, that is surely not what FSU CARE just told me. I’m so confused, its not even funny.

So I recently applied for fall and summer housing. And to my knowledge since I am in CARE I should only have to pay $50 for the fall and $0 for the summer deposit. Although on my Blackboard application fee area it says that I have $175 ($225 - $50) and $100 due? Is it supposed to say that even if I am in CARE? When you guys in CARE applied for housing for Fall did it also say that you owed $175 after you paid the $50?

I am wondering this too. I’ve called and they said that I shouldn’t worry about it although I am still a bit skeptical.

They know that you’re a C.A.R.E applicant and know that your deposit for fall is 50 dollars so don’t worry about it

They know that you are a care applicant so they know you would be paying a deposit of 50 dollars so there is nothing to worry about they would know
