I just got billed, and I love it and all but when I recieved my financial aid package in paper form, it said I got federal work study, but when I checked the bill online, it doesn't list the Federal Work Study. How does Federal Work Study Work?

FWS is not credited by Cornell at all.

What FWS means is that the government/cornell gives you an amount of FWS for your employer to pay you from. Basically it’s a subsidy for your employment.

Your on-campus employer pays half from their own pocket and gets the other half from this FWS fund. You can talk to finAID about changing this FWS to a loan and still be employed on campus, you will just not be able to apply for jobs where “FWS” is “REQUIRED”.
