I got expelled because of my grades from a prestigious university. I am an international student with a psychological condition, which affected my grades severely.I previously got suspended and came back, and now I am expelled for good. How best can I frame my letter of appeal to explain my extenuating circumstances.

I am sorry for what must be a tumultuous time for you. But with all sincerity, I don’t think this forum is going to be able to provide you with any real advice.

Sounds like you should focus on getting help for your psychological condition first… university will still be around in 5, 10, 20, 50 years from now.

Come on guys, help me out.

I’m sorry to hear that. Have your doctor send a letter in

Perhaps repost on the Parents forum or the College Life forum? This is the forum for students wanting to be admitted as Harvard freshmen.

You should have registered with the disabilities office with documentation from a doctor. That would have entitled you to some accommodations. The only suggestion I would make is to see a psychiatrist and/or therapist and have them document your problem, what you are doing to recover or improve to the point of returning and basically argue your case for you. Many universities, even with suspension, will require a full year out and proof of healthier functioning, such as full-time work. Since you have been expelled, not sure what will happen but it doesn’t hurt to try.
