My SAT scores were horrid so I will not be sending them out. However I took two SAT II's and got an 800 in German and a 650 in History.

Other stats: 5.78 weighted GPA, top 7% of my class 46/678 students
IB student. President of German Honor Society, Varsity Baseball Team

I am going to be applying EA to Georgetown and regular decision to Johns Hopkiins,Amherst,GW,Vanderbilt and Tufts. UF and FSU are my safety florida schools.

I would like some feedback as to sending all 3 ACT scores or only my top score of 31. I have heard that some schools like to see the growth but I dont want a low score of 25 to go against me. Also, If my ACT score if significantly better than SAT score I shouldnt submit my SAT score correct?

i had the same problem.my SAT scores were not good (1900) and then eh (2050) relative to the schools i wanted (i.e duke, vanderbilt, emory, upenn, northwestern)
i first got a 31 on the ACT then just recently got a 33 and i wasnt sure what to send.
im applying ED to duke and when i visited they said they will choose the scores that are better for you and only look at those. so maybe you should find out specifically because i ended up sending everything to those schools
its not all about the scores though!!!
(im an IB student as well, they looooooveeeee IB!)

I usually do not respond to these types of threads, but yours “screamed” out to me…NO WAY I would send two 25’s to any school if you can send a 31…is that emphatic enough for you???

D’s college counselor said she should report both SAT and ACT, because they’ll pick the best, but her ACT was significantly better. It’s a solid score for all her schools, but the SAT is not-- so is there any reason to submit them? They’re all Common App schools, and it doesn’t seem to be required.

I honestly don’t know if any of the testing companies put info on what they send that might indicate more than one testing. I would not risk it for a school that requires you send all tests.

Send only the highest one if that’s an available option. You don’t want to appear to colleges that you are really not that smart (25) and got to 31 after hours of studying. ACT is a very coachable test and you don’t want them to think you got 31 because of hours of coaching. You want them to think you got 31 with great ease.
