Hi everyone! I just got off the wait list at Wake Forest University, but had already decided to enroll at Boston College. Now, I'm stuck: I can't decide between the two! Anyone got any thoughts?

Probably most important factor: Boston vs. North Carolina
Your personal decision of where you want to spend 4 years

Yeah - I am worried that if I went to WFU instead of BC, I'd be sacrificing Boston for winston-salem...I've never been there, but I can only guess that it is not as cool of a place.

Yeah, Winston's not as cool as Boston, but hey - the weather's a heck of a lot warmer :)

I'm biased, though - I'm going to Wake. ;)

Cool! Juba - is there enough to do in town? Do you ever feel restricted by the small selection of shopping/restaurants, etc?

I think it's dangerous choosing North Carolina over Boston if you haven't visited. Any chance of going down there before you have to make a final decision?

Also BC is larger and Jesuit, if that makes a difference.
Wake Forest has a Med school if you are premed.

Trust your gut instinct. And, don't ask too many people what you should do - that tends to cloud up your gut instinct. Just remember: You don't HAVE to go to Wake Forest just because they want you now. In fact, maybe, just maybe, you'd be better off going to the school that liked you enough to accept you right off the bat without putting you in wait list purgatory. But again, trust your own gut instinct on this one, and, whatever you decide, look forward, not backwards, after you've made the decision.

I'm actually an incoming freshman, but I live in NC anyway, so I'm somewhat familiar with Winston-Salem...people say it's not the "classic" college town, but I think there is stuff to do, if you look for it.

I definitely second Hormesis and Carolyn's advice, though.

go to wake, its a better school

rankings-wise, it is a better school, but im not sure its a better school for * me *...you know? Anyone else wanna give their 2 cents?

I already did. The best school for YOU is what matters, not the rankings. Trust your instincts.
