I don't know a lot about it...but I'm sure it's there. There's a lot of recycling here, which is more than I can say about my last school.

Haha no I was thinking more of like awareness/demonstrations and ehh
Whatevs.

If what's there isn't what I am looking for, I'll just start it up myself!

I was saying it's there, and in addition, people are environmentally concious.

emPower is a pretty big deal right now. They're fighting pretty hard for carbon neutrality of Brown University and recently displayed 1000 "faces" of a petition (pictures they took of people with their sign) on the Main Green.

How big of an event is SexPowerGod, and is it faculty supported? What are the general feelings of the students towards the event?

I bet they take all of the conservatives and burn them at the stake.
I didn't apply to brown for a couple reasons. one being, I didn't think that I could take it. I don't care how ridiculous that sounds, I'm looking for a college at which I will succeed and be happy, and for that to happen, I need a conservative environment..to some extent. (not just politically)

...

Okey.

Thanks for that.

Wow, emPower sounds pretty cool!

Faculty seem to be ambivalent about SPG. Most barely know anything about it. I've had a couple of professors ask me what the deal is, what is ****ing off alumni about it and what the students think.

It's not a big deal-- we care that it exists but the event is at least 80-90% freshman who are going just to see what it's all about. Most students think the problem isn't the party but lies many other places.

We don't do anything to seuferk, and I'm sorry you didn't apply because of your political leanings. College is not a place that has to be constantly about politics, and politics, while discussed with my friends, is hardly the only thing that goes on. That being said, what about a "conservative environment" is it that you desire (since you say it's more than politics)?

[[what about a "conservative environment" is it that you desire (since you say it's more than politics)?]]
A conservative environment is important so that a certain set of morals will be upheld. Also, most conservatives are Christian and few liberals are Christian, and Christianity is an important part of my life. I don't need to go to a Christian college by any means but to have a group of Christians around me is essential.

Cool. Just wondering. While I think that you're way off base (assuming that a liberal environment does not uphold morals and that Christians, very serious and strong believing Christians don't go to schools with liberal environments), I hope you find a place that you feel is suited to you.

A college can be liberal arts and still conservative in its ideals, can it not?

Sure. Colleges can also be liberal without losing a sense of morality and responsibility or alienating Christians.

What I'm really saying is that it works both ways-- these things are not causally related.

If you need a conservative environment, go apply to U of tennessee, arkansas or mississippi..

morality is not directly linked to christianity...or religion for that matter. just putting that out there.
