Just some advice--something I wish I'd known

the only drawback i can think of about bubble tea is that it is kinda expensive, the cheapest kind at columbia is $2.95 and it's not very big. (this is another reason to get a meal plan with less meals and more points)

metsfan--The Sizzler or Hometown Buffet type of buffets are like five star restaurants compared to John Jay. Have you ever seen a military mess hall or prison cafeteria on TV? That's more like the JJ.

Oh man how I miss Sizzler. The one by me closed when I was like five, and I've been missing it since then. There's one by Columbia? Hooooray! Now I really hope I get in. Hehe.

No, no Sizzler by Columbia. I didn't even know those existed in NYC.

No Sizzler. Oh well. :(

He was comparing Sizzler to John Jay.

But yeah. My favorite thing about Sizzler was the basket of butter toast ... mmm.

Where does one go for the best food on campus?

JJ's place is pretty damn good, but all that fried stuff will kill you.

Uris Deli and Hartley Deli will give you a decent sandwich.

Wien food court was good when I was there. The wraps were pretty tasty. I heard the food court is on the downslope, though. They replaced a Taco Bell with something pretty bad, for one.

All of the food places in Lerner kind of sucked when I was there.

Am I missing anything?

what do points do?

points are sort of like dollars that you can use at various dining locations on campus

Your Columbia ID has a magnetic stripe on it (like a credit card) and keeps your balance of points (also called Dining Dollars). A point/DD is a dollar. At any of the on-campus places, you can pay with cash or give them your ID and use your points/DDs. I guess it is sort of like having a Starbucks giftcard.

i'm thinking about making homemade bubble tea...
buy it from me.
