Which one should I get?
14 meal per week
or
200 meals per semester?
Thanks

NOT 200 per semester. That is IMPOSSIBLE. I'd go for 7/week (not recommended) or 100 per semester. Anything else takes some real dedication. No one I know who had a 150/semester was happy with it. Not a soul. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it is.

Are meal plans required for freshmen?

Nope, but I think something like 60% of them have them. I'd recommend having one at least for the first semester, just for social reasons. And hey, I actually liked the food, especially for breakfast.

Hey cloying we can walk to breakfast together next semester!!!!!

Haha but yeah, I suggest the 105/semester meal plan or whatever the lowest semester plan is. I did that and still had like 20 left over.

105 sounds like there wont be enough to eat during the semester.
do you just grocery shop and cook at your floor kitchen?
any recommendation on flex bucks?
whats the difference between flex bucks and expense dollars?
should i wait until CTOPS to order my meal plan?

I thought 105 would be too little but honestly, I'm always on the go so I use a lot of flex/expense dollars as opposed to meals. I think, and I'm not exactly sure about this, is that flex dollars can only be used for food and tax is eliminated? Something like that. Expense dollars can be used in situations where flex dollars can be used, but not always vice versa. And you don't get your flex money back at the end of the year if you have any left over, whereas you do get your expense money back.

so your expense money has the power of flex bucks plus more?
Would the 150 plus 200 of flex bucks be enough?

150 with 200 is good. you can add value to flex at anytime but that is a good number. My D ended up with meals left over and went with 105 then was short!!! go figure.

do NOT get the weekly meal plan!

why not ann? any suggestions?

My roommate had it and it was extremely annoying having to eat a certain number of meals a week. She had the 7 meals/week plan. The meals don't roll over, so if you don't eat all 7 meals in a week, you're basically just wasting money. I'll definitely recommend getting a block meal plan.

so its suggested to get which block plan and how much flex bucks?

When do you select your meal plan? Is that something you do during CTOPS?

I didn't see it as part of the Applicant Central checklist.
