Update:

Somebody wrote this on January 26th, so I'm just going to copy and paste it.

"I have good news guys!
talked to her mom yesterday and apparently Julie had a reaction! they had to clean her mouth so they were taking the tubes out and she flinched and tried to open her eyes, which is a good sign. there's been no recovery or change but it's still good :] her family asks if you could have your church pray for her.
she's hanging in there :) "

That's really good to hear! I'll still keep her in my thoughts.

Sorry another update. I hate to post this after there was promising news.

Her condition took a turn for the worse. It's hour to hour now and the doctors said she only has a 50-50 chance of making it through the night.

That sucks...achh...must get away from depressing news!

I'm sure the State of the Union Address will give me a good laugh, but the suspense will be killing me.

proletariat, I had not been aware that the roads were icy that day, and had assumed that the boy was at fault. My bad. But I'm sure he is suffering, if not emotionally, too.

^Actually, they have now determined that weather was probably not a major factor. It was technically Julie's fault, but only because she ignored a rule that virtually everybody ignores. I don't think we can really blame anyone, but I'm sure the boy is suffering emotionally.

^^ He is. And I feel bad because it wasn't his fault in the least.

And you're right, it was her fault. Weather was not a factor.

god, things like this really give you a reality check.

my friend's mom has been in the hospital since august of last year for a multitude of reasons, but seemed to be getting better and was scheduled to go home for good soon. they were hoping for a week or two before she could leave the rehab place she was in for the time being.

yesterday her heart stopped, and though they were able to revive her, the neurologists say she's now braindead.
