Okay, so NYU doesn't want people to apply because of their NYC location. Although I am not applying solely because of that, it is one of the reasons I am applying.

My situation is that I am applying to the Gallatin School of Individualized Study because I want to study adolescent psychology, but I want to do it in a more focused perspective than what a Psychology major could give me. I also want to incorporate comparative culture studies, social work, public policy, and sociology into the curriculum. I think NYC is the perfect place to do something like this because of the plethora of different cultures that I would have access to.

My question is: Should I tell NYU that part of the reason i'm applying for transfer is because of the NYC location and the resources that I would have as a result of the location? Should I just keep that info to myself? Does anyone think they will look down on my essay because of it?
