Who here applied to Gallatin and got in? I applied to transfer there and I was just wondered if they were looking for specific qualities over other NYU applicants..? I was just thinking back to my essay and I think I might have been vague on my interests...anyway, thoughts..just about gallatin, nyu, transferring? whatever

I applied and got into Gallatin as a Freshman; I had a pretty specific idea for what I wanted to study. I've heard it is somewhat of an honors part of NYU?

I said in my application that I was unsure of my career. Is that a bad thing? But I did mention possible career as a traveling journaist and expressed interest in writing, art, and languages... is that good enough?

Looking back on it, I was rather vague about what I wanted to do at the school as well. I really didn't justify applying there over applying to, say, Tisch. But I guess my application made me come off as an interesting person, because they accepted me. I really want to do a combination of artistic things at NYU that I couldn't accomplish through any other program.

I would not worry if your interests are not very focused. If you get accepted you will have an advisor who will work closely with you to develop your concentration. You can have a really broad concentration... say "Entertainment Marketing" or a very specific one.. like "Public Art in Rome during the Renaissance." It's very much up to you.
