Doesn't it disturb you guys that so many people, even on this forum, try to justify the use of drugs? I do think that marijuana should be legalized and the drinking age should be reduced, but unless you are in writhing pain or only use them once in a while, there is no good reason to use them.

Alcohol makes you behave like an idiot and damages your liver.
Marijuana is liable to cause some brain damage (however slight)
Meth, Heroin, Cocaine, Crack, etc, will ruin your lives
Tobacco can kill you

Is getting a high really worth the long-term damage? It seems that most teenage drug abusers are trying to justify their use merely to stop people from trying to stop their usage, and nothing else.

Why do people fly airplanes for fun? Why do people take road trips? Why do people play football? Why do people climb Mount Everest? Why do people even try to have fun!?!?!

^^ haha Ch1ck3nPotPi3 the thing is, not half the things you listed were illegal. Not saying that if Marijuana was legalized then it’d be okay…For me it’s more about morals and trying to keep my body intact. But hey, do what you see fit. Like sg12 said, life’s too short; drugs only make it shorter ;)

Sometimes, I don’t understand this “moral” thing. What makes something “wrong” other than it directly killing other people? If football was made illegal because of the sheer number of injuries it causes(brain damage, broken bones, etc), then would playing football be “wrong”?

^ To each his own Ch1ck3nPotPi3 :] I just don’t feel the need to induce an artificial euphoria upon myself or do something I know I would definitely regret.
I get what you’re saying though.

I wasn’t saying that using drugs is morally wrong. It just seems irrational and illogical. People aren’t gonna stop using it, but at least they can stop trying to make “recreational” use seem legitimate.

Drugs are fun…until you quit. Then they’re not fun…not just cause you’re addicted.

^ Eh, I was continuing my parachuting vs. liquor comparative. It’s fairly common knowledge that marijuana isn’t as addictive as others used to make it out to be.

well if you wanna go down this road, why do people eat unhealthy foods? sure, fast food may be cheaper in the short term, but after all those doctor visits when your blood vessels become basically made of cholesterol, i think the costs would eventually even out or even tip towards the other side. then again, who kills more people: drug overdoses or heart disease? which seems more prevalent in today’s teens: drug use or childhood obesity.

i say live and let live. we’ve been drilled with the facts since we were kids. we know what’s gonna happen. and btw, i drink (no drugs though), but not too excess. i’m not gonna justify it, im just saying i do it for fun. i don’t force anybody to do anything, i dont judge people that do/don’t drugs; as long as they don’t do anything really stupid (aka drinking and driving), i leave them alone

I don’t give a scat about what you do to your own body. Live and let live, yes. But choose what you do wisely. Look at the future. Everest has a 19% death rate. But you will fully recover if you get down. Crack cocaine and meth cannot kill you if taken in tolerable doses. But it will mess your life up.
