I'm having trouble mearing what my results have been on the Kaplan practice tests opposed to the real thing. I'm only getting about 60% of the questions correct on these practice tests. Anyone help me understand what that means?

Basically, what I’m asking is if 60% on a test like this is normal or if it means I am way below the average.

Use the Kaplan book for practice so just do the tests as if they were an extra set of practice problems.

Don’t bother trying to figure out what percentile that puts you at.

Every now and again you should try the PowerPrep CAT that ETS provides for free. That should give you a solid idea of how you are doing. It is the best indicator of how you’ll score on the real GRE.

Isn’t the PowerPrep software not CAT, though? (Although I do agree with it scoring the most accurately)

As for the Kaplan books, yeah; it doesn’t tell you your percentage score, so it’s best to just use the Kaplan guide as a review. The Barron’s book, though, does have a couple practice tests in it and a percentile guide in it (if you can find a copy).

Umm…

The percentile guide for the Barron’s book is a joke. They overshoot your score significantly. So if you do get a solid Verbal score on Barron’s, it doesn’t mean ****.

I’m pretty sure Powerprep is a CAT. Correct me if I’m mistaken.
