Ke$ha

It says in her bio that she was "planning on attending Columbia University to major in psychology" but then she dropped out of high school and started her music career.

but was she actually accepted or did she just WANT to go to Columbia...

I can’t answer your question, but I’d just like to say that I FREAKING LOVE HER. Haha.

Ke$ha is trash.

<3 her album

If she did, it would probably make me not want to go to Columbia.

At least Lady GaGa got through some of Tisch before she dropped out.

This quiche can’t compare to thunder thighs.

haha i honestly have no ****ing clue why i like Ke$ha’s crap but i have yet to hear another pop artist that doesn’t make me bleed from my ears. Lady GaGa is horrible imo…

but to be fair pop isnt my crowd. I just may be the only person in the world who has a playlist with Killswitch Engage, As Blood Runs Black, Threat Signal, and Ke$ha in it.

wowww

how could she not want to go Columbia…

i somehow don’t believe that sentence in her bio…

I noticed the same sentence when I read her bio. It seemed like she dropped out when she was 17, so she probably didn’t do senior year. I don’t think she ever actually applied, but I’m sure she intended to and would have had she not decided to embark on a musical career.

I thought about that too but I looked up her birthdate, which is March 1st.

It is conceivable that she applied early and was accepted or that she dropped out near her 18th birthday after applying and got her decision back after leaving to go to LA, but im with you, I don’t think she actually applied either and that line in her bio was simply a slight, possibly unintentional, bit of ambiguous embellishment.

haha, i guess she knew what she was doing…

She wouldn’t be the first female musical artist to ‘drop out’ of Columbia… see Alicia Keys and Lauren Hill.

Perhaps she meant “hoping” instead of “planning”.

Not gonna lie, I just bought her new album and it’s kinda disgustingly addicting

^^haha i know right?

despite the fact that its like Miley Cyrus but 5 years older… and just sort of intrinsically better, but still of the same vibe.

I’d characterize her as a cross between Taylor Swift and Lady GaGa. Like GaGa, her music is primarily electro-pop with great hooks, mostly dance songs but some ballads. The lyrics are full of allusions to partying and living a fast life. Like Taylor, though, she’s a southern girl who loves country and talks about boys and relationships.

“despite the fact that its like Miley Cyrus but 5 years older… and just sort of intrinsically better, but still of the same vibe.”

You’re not gonna hear this in a Miley Cyrus song:

Hahah she’s definitely a less-wholesome, more white-trash and electronic-fied version of Taylor Swift.

ha kesha’s awesome. crazy but awesome :p

According to this people article ([Five Things You Don’t Know About Ke$ha - Music News, Kesha : People.com](http://www.peoplestylewatch.com/people/stylewatch/package/article/0,,20332903_20339437,00.html)) linked from Bwog, she was going to go to Barnard. So that might imply she was accepted and turned it down.
