It says in her bio that she was "planning on attending Columbia University to major in psychology" but then she dropped out of high school and started her music career.

but was she actually accepted or did she just WANT to go to Columbia...

haha i honestly have no ****ing clue why i like Ke$ha’s crap but i have yet to hear another pop artist that doesn’t make me bleed from my ears. Lady GaGa is horrible imo…

but to be fair pop isnt my crowd. I just may be the only person in the world who has a playlist with Killswitch Engage, As Blood Runs Black, Threat Signal, and Ke$ha in it.

I noticed the same sentence when I read her bio. It seemed like she dropped out when she was 17, so she probably didn’t do senior year. I don’t think she ever actually applied, but I’m sure she intended to and would have had she not decided to embark on a musical career.

I thought about that too but I looked up her birthdate, which is March 1st.

It is conceivable that she applied early and was accepted or that she dropped out near her 18th birthday after applying and got her decision back after leaving to go to LA, but im with you, I don’t think she actually applied either and that line in her bio was simply a slight, possibly unintentional, bit of ambiguous embellishment.

I’d characterize her as a cross between Taylor Swift and Lady GaGa. Like GaGa, her music is primarily electro-pop with great hooks, mostly dance songs but some ballads. The lyrics are full of allusions to partying and living a fast life. Like Taylor, though, she’s a southern girl who loves country and talks about boys and relationships.
