I’ve been using the official math 2 practice tests. For the first two tests, I ran out of time. Because of this, I never get past the 600s level. Please help!
Have you already completed high school trigonometry class?
I’m finishing Pre-calculus this semester, so basically, yes
How do you do on classroom tests-- do you run out of time on them as well?
On a few tests, yes. But for the most part, time hasn’t been much of an issue in my class. I guess I’m not used to the SAT Math 2’s pace. It could also just be needing to brush up (I had forgotten how to do series).
OK, so it looks like it’s the material that’s slowing you down.
How about this: on your next practice attempt, do a read-through before you begin to write. Label the problems A, B and C. “A” for topics you remember and are confident you can answer quickly. 'B" for those you remember, but will need to take more time with. And “C” for those you will have to slow down for because you’re shaky on the formulas.
See whether that can improve your time-- but NOT at the expense of your final score.
