Hi! I am interested in getting into Kelley business directly. I have an unweighted gpa of a 3.71 (may go up to like a 3.75), a weighted gpa of a 4.2 (probably becomes a 4.3) and a SAT score of 1560. But my school’s weighted GPA program is A = 4.6 for honors and A = 4.9 for AP. What GPA would they consider as far as Direct admissions?
They’ll just take your weighted GPA of 4.2 so you’re fine
Our school has a strange 6 point scale and student had a 6.4 weighted. Due to the odd conversion required, I called the IU Admissions office and they confirmed it was recorded in IU books as a 4.0. Sounds like you would be classified as a 4.0 too. I might have gotten lucky getting someone willing to look up to confirm all was fine. It has also been 6 weeks since they’ve had the transcript.
@aggiesomeday123 Thanks for confirming. I got confirmation for IU. Waiting for confirmation from Kelley.
@iubaccounting how many days before you get information from Kelley for direct admit. I have weighted GPA 4.2. I got confirmation from IU yesterday. Thanks
I’m not exactly sure but I think it took me a few weeks for Kelley to tell me I was a DA after I was admitted.
They say 4-6, but seems to be about 3 weeks. And if you meet the numbers you’re in. Good luck.
You’re good. It took over a month for Kelley to tell me, so don’t worry if you don’t get it after 3 weeks
I attend a top ranked independent school that doesn’t weight GPA, but all classes are considered honors or accelerated. I have a 3.7 GPA. How will the effect my chances of getting into Kelley?
They will use the highest GPA on your transcript. So, assuming that number is 3.7, you are 0.1 short of the direct admit GPA requirement. After you get into IU, you should fill out the Kelley petition form on their website and they will review your application for possible direct admission. You can do this as long as your ACT/SAT meet the direct admit requirements.
