Ok so I was wondering I've looked at the stats but what exactly are my chances of getting into either the kelley business school or the IU honors program by appeal?

GPA: 3.3 (3.7/4.5 scale, unweighted, even though I've taken mostly AP classes this year and the last my school simply refuses to weight anyone's GPA)

AP Chem, Ap Physics C, AP Macroecon/AP Microcon, AP French 4, AP French 5 lit, AP Calc BC, AP Comparative Gov.

SAT (2400): 2070 (hoping they don't count the writing section 630, 8 essay)
SAT (1600): 1440 (760 math, 690 crit reading)
ACT: 31
SATII
MATH 2: 750
FRENCH W/ LISTENING: 670 (not great but 100% of the listening section right if that counts for anything...)

Indian attending a private high school

Extracurricular:
Community service stuff (around 100 hours at least)
-Mock Trial
-Model UN
-Youth Leg
-Violin (10 years)

It certainly can't hurt to try an appeal to Kelley or Hutton. If I were you, I'd go back to my counselor and ask him/her to figure out if you are in the top 10% of your class.

I don't understand schools that refuse to rank. They have to know that some of their students are going to miss out on opportunities for scholarships and honors placement.

Keep in mind he's/she's 3.3 unweighted, so the weighted score (based upon all the AP classes taken) is probably over 3.5--for this reason I would definitely appeal (which he/she is entitled to do since the required SAT/ACT score has already been achieved).

There is the link for the petition form. They give you space to write down any information you would like them to consider. You also need a teacher recommendation and a copy of your transcript. Send all of those things in one envelope to the address printed on the form.
