I am transferring into IUB as an instate resident with 48 credit hours. The problem is that I was a Biology major so most of my courses are Chemistry and Biology courses.

I want to switch to a more practical major that can be done in 6 semesters with 2 summers that can be utilized if necessary.

My problem is that my gpa from my old school is 2.85...

I was thinking about integrating my biology background with a Computer Science degree from IUB. The problem is I don't even know if I like computer science.

But I was also thinking about pursuing a business degree from Kelley.

Basically I want to go to Kelley the most because I've always been interested in business, but my parents forced me to go pre-med.

Here are my questions, thanks for taking the time to read all this:

I talked to an adviser and she said that Kelley looks mostly at my first and/or the second semester I apply.

Let's say I decide to take the risk, take classes required for admission into Kelley.

If I put in the time and effort into all of my courses, therefore receiving Bs or above in all of my classes, will I be able to get in?

I had a friend who told me it took him 3 semesters before he got into Kelley because his transcript had some grades below Bs and some Ws.

If I don't get into Kelley, I heard a lot of people go into SPEA. The problem is, I don't want to graduate with a degree that screams "Kelley Reject".

What's the deal with "SPEA"?

I read their website and I still don't get what I can do with the degree.

What should I do? If I take the risk of trying to get into Kelley and I don't get in, I might just have to end up going into SPEA because going into Comp Sci might be even too late and too much of a bigger risk.

If I go into Comp Sci, I don't have to worry about getting admitted into CoAS and I can integrate my previous Biology background to prepare me for a career in Bioinformatics.

I really want to get into Kelley. Really bad. I just don't know if it's impossible for me at this point. I'm worried about my career and I don't want to go into something I don't like. That's why I want to go into business, because it's an interest of mine.
