As my school in the Netherlands does not rank or use GPA system, what are my chances to petition for direct admission with SAT of 1340 (EBRW 660 and Math 680)?
You must have grades and predicted scores for your national exam, right? Do those place you at the top of your age group?
In order to have a better chance with the petition make sure you spell the name of the school correctly “KELLEY”
I am top 15% of my high school year. 180 students, very competitive.
Regarding name of the school KELLEY, point taken. Will pay attention more avoiding typos.
So, a prep school (VWO only)?
What type of universities do your classmates attend? If highly ranked universities, it can provide an indication of academic rigor.
Can anyone enter after Year 8 or year 10, or are there academic criteria to enter (if there are criteria, such as marks in Dutch, English, and Maths, they should be listed, such as “admitted students include the top 50% of Year 8 students” or “top 30% of year 10 students”…)
You can’t expect the people reading your application for Kelley to know all of that.
High school is highest level of Holland. Only 7% of all kids can do this after test results on elementary school. School takes 6 years (from 12 to 18 years). No new kids are entering during these years.
Ok then this needs to be part of the “school profile” that your guidance counselor or head teacher writes. You can work on it together. A school where only 7% can enter would not rank indeed but would use comparison, not within the school, but to the general school population (ie., 30% at your school get a score of 8 v. 10% in most VWO prep schools…)
I just got notified, I got admitted as University Div Pre-Business. I am trying (by petition) to get a direct admission to KSB. If this is not working out, it will be up to me to make it to Kelley meeting the requirements.
