Kenan- Flagler vs. Kelley School of Business

Hello!

I am a high school senior who will soon be making a college decision. I am fortunate enough to have been accepted to UNC/ Kenan-Flagler, and am very excited about the opportunity. However, I have also been offered a full ride to Indiana University/ Kelley School of Business. My question is, considering it would cost me $40,000 a year to attend UNC versus going for free at Indiana, are there any reasons why you think attending UNC would be worth giving up my scholarship?

Thank you for your input in advance!

Well I don’t know your financial situation, but 40k/year is a pretty serious difference. UNC is definitely more prestigous, highly ranked, well connected, and highly recruited than Kelley, but Kelley is by no means a bad school (from what I can tell, im a rising freshman too).

Personally, I feel that UNC will leave you better prepared and better positioned to face the world, however I’m not really sure that this difference is worth 160k. Also, I know nothing about campus life at Indiana U.

Both schools place very well regionally, less so nationally, and there is probably little difference in national recruitment.

I’d pick UNC over Kelley personally, all else being equal. But I can’t begin to imagine spending $ 160,000 more for the privilege.

Go to Kelley - it’s a great program.
