Kenyon or CU Boulder?

Hi,

As a parent of a son who has been accepted to Kenyon College and CU Boulder, Arts and Sciences Honor's Program, we have visited both places. As you can imagine these are completely different types of schools. He seems to be leaning toward CU Boulder, but we would like to see him go to Kenyon. He is very into rock climbing part of the appeal of Boulder, but West Virginia also has some good spots. Anyway, we realize that attending a college/university is not all about an extracurricular activity. Any feedback from current students, former students, or parents would be much appreciated. We are very aware about the advantages and disadvantages of both small and large, but would like more about these from the vantage point of current or former students from both places. Thanks in advance.

Depends alot on what he wants to do. For example, if its hard science, its CU no contest.

“Big State U” problems have never been an issue for D, but that may be due in part to being in a major with relatively small UG enrollment.

Thanks for your note. He is not really into hard science. He is interested in Political Science, possibly Law.
