Has anyone here received Studio Art Scholarship result? I emailed them but they haven’t replied 
accepted with 15k merit! it feels like such a relief after all the stress i put myself through! congrats all!
@amcquilk where did she submit the why Kenyon essay? In the additional information section? Did many others wrote additional essays? My daughter’s counselor advised her not to. Also, has anyone successfully appealed financial aid from Kenyon?

@amcquilk I didn’t think there was a “Why Kenyon” essay. I thought they did away with their supplement. Your D wrote one anyway? And put it where on the app?

@homerdog, there was no supplement. I’m assuming they sent one anyway. I was just reading another post from someone who said he asked his admissions rep if sending one was a good idea, and was told yes, so he did. Live and learn. Kenyon is my daughter’s dream school. I told her to take the advice of her counselor and not send extra essays to schools that didn’t ask for them for fear it would be a turn off.
We signed up for one of the admitted students days just because I can’t let go of this dream for her…but the loans she would have to take out… ugh. We have other children and she is thinking about med school. She has 2 other full tuition + offers (schools that don’t fit her at all, but she would be debt free and have extra money to study abroad etc.) It’s such a difficult decision and she is so practical minded if we left it up to her she would just do what was best/easiest for everyone else but herself. That makes me want to be able to give it to her that much more. So scared of her (and us) making the wrong decision here.

@2manycollegequestions4me thank you. That’s good to know about the essay. I’m so sorry about your dilemma. I’m sure you aren’t the only family with difficult choices. Maybe your D will go to accepted student days at the other schools and find reasons to love them! It’s hard to keep a straight head sometimes when it comes to choosing. Good luck to you!!
I do remember her writing about her summer visit, but i don’t remember where in the application. It might have even been part of the music scholarship application or in response to one of the supplemental questions. She didnt send anything she wasnt asked for. Sorry, just cant recall.
To those of you thinking the aid isn’t enough, be aware merit scholarships may be only part of the package. Wait to get your full financial aid letter before deciding. I emailed Fin Aid this morning to ask. It doesn’t make sense that there is no award letter posted for my daughter. Even to say youre getting nothing but Federal Aid (for which I know we qualify).
@amcquilk Thanks for responding. Kenyon does not have supplements so I’m guessing your D wrote about Kenyon specifically just in the music application.
I read somewhere on CC that they wouldn’t notify you if you didn’t get the scholarship so I was freaking out today when the results came without any mentioning of that (the scholarship). If you hear anything from them then please reply on this thread!

@natimom same here! i just emailed the admissions office about not receiving an update! the wait is so unnerving
They just emailed. There was a computer glitch. Award letters will be posted on portal at 2pm
@amendoim did u applied for financial aid?
@amcquilk Did it just say that there was a glitch with some people or everyone? I think some people got award letters already.
@akrem111 yes, I did. There’s a doc in my portal that says “financial aid notification”, but it only includes the merit aid I received and no need-based aid (which I believe I should receive given my parents’ income range). I will send a letter to the financial aid office asking if my financial aid award can be revisited

I’m kind of confused. My financial aid letter includes two things: My Honor Scholar money, and a “Federal Direct Unsub. Loan.” Does this mean that I might still be recieving more financial aid?
