I'm surprised I haven't seen a thread like this one yet. So yah, which candidate, Kerry or Bush, do you guys support and what is your number one reason for doing so?

"I'm surprised I haven't seen a thread like this one yet. "

W0W, you must be new...

Anyways, these threads are best left to the summer, considering how they take up so much of everyones time.

Anyways, I'd vote for Bush. :)

yea, please, we do NOT have the time to be getting into politics again. odysseus, if youre really interested in what CCers have to say, the oldschool forum should have some threads to your liking in the July or August archives of the Cafe.

enjoy
and I'd vote for Kerry :)

Bush. I don't want to divulge my reasons at this moment because I don't have time to debate :)

they both suck ass.

you understand that they don't give a damn about anything but the vote? the Electorate is what matters, anyway.

Bush. Reasons? Abortion and Terrorism.

And I'm not in the mood for a debate either. I'm sick of them.

I like Nader, and the reason why is cause I feel he has the knowledge to provide jobs, create a more educated work force, and a overall better economy. I see him as a person who would avoid war, and focus more on domestic issues. Despite that, I wouldn't vote for him. It's not like he's going to get enough votes, that my one vote would make a difference. Also some people feel that he is to "smart" to be president.

Yeah. I think for those who frequently post about politics on this forum, we know where they stand. That being said...

Kerry supporter 100%. Let's give the little oil pimp 2 weeks notice!

Nader? I think hes a joke. I dont like either political its a fight between the Rich vs the Rich, how do they know what the poor and middle class want?

I would have voted for Dennis Kucinich.

amnesia, the peoples vote have a light affect on the decision made by the electoral college representatives of that particular state. I heard Florida though will not be represented in the electoral college.

Bush...Kerry seems to understand the nuances of the English language better, but the statements of both candidates show that Bush has a better understanding of terrorism and knows how to combat it. Kerry says he will defend us bravely if we're ever attacked again...the thing is, Bush will do his best to keep that attack from happening in the first place. If Kerry had been President, both Saddam and the Taliban would still be in power.

Florida will be represented, but there is already talk of voter fraud around the country.

The computer polling stations that are going to be used by 33% of the country are highly highly flawed. The code for them has not be released to the government because of a loop hole that says corporations get the same privacy rights as individuals. The fact that the major computer polling corporations such as DiBold, which its President said to Bush at a dinner in 2003, "We will make sure that Ohio goes to you, Mr. President" has voters extremely nervous. DiBold is one of the largest GOP supporters and the machines are so easy to break into that if you press more than 4 buttons at once, the source code seems to come up (I have heard this from reports of tests being conducted). That being a possibility, it will be easy to change votes in each of those machines.

Florida and other states have already opened up early voting, not absentee, which is actually against the constitution! However, it is not going to stop. African Americans are also extremely upset after the 2000 election because of the fact that 55,000 of them were illegally disenfranchised by a compant called DBT which was the first outsourced, private company to check and make the voting records, as well as Katherine Harris being the Chair of the Bush/Cheney 2000 campaign in Florida and being the director of elections in the state at that time. Blacks are going to be voting in droves and evidentally there are already problems in Florida that are showing the same signs as 2000 and voting records.

Also in Florida, a WSJ, NYTimes and Washinton Post independent reading of all the ballots in the state found that Al Gore won the election by about 1,500 votes.

So, yes. Florida will count this year. We all need to hope that this election runs a little bit smoother. It is not correct for elections to be hanging in the balance of a few, select computer programmers.

Uhhh....Kebree...I don't know what you are talking about. I think you have been watching too much of Fox News. When did 9/11 happen? It was under Bush. To say that Bush is a better protector of the homeland is a farse.

I also don't understand why Kerry has to act as the more macho man in this election. Kerry went to Vietnam voluntarily and fought bravely. Bush was in the Texas Air National Guard protecting us from the Viet-Kong that were coming to the mainland...as well as the fact he was a cheerleader during his time at Andover (no offense to any cheerleaders...just making a point).

How do you know Kebree what Kerry would have done? Was he President? No. If you want to know what he can do, give him a chance to show you.

I don't think Bush can understand the nuances of just about anything. I think he is smarter than he looks, but he isn't all that intelligent.

To quote a well known comedian: The Presidency is an exceptional position in the world. For all of John Kerry's flaws and imperfections he is an exceptional person. George Bush...well...he is a special person.

We all know that Kerry has a better domestic policy agenda than Bush. Bush has been the worst environmental President in our nation's history as proved by the EPA. He has taken a national surplus at its highest and brought the nation's deficit it to its lowest point ever. The tech recession can not be to blame for all of it. The supply side economics is to blame. It doesn't work. I am in that upper 1%...I can offically say it does not work. We need to vote for helping the greatest good...not voting for what is best for our checkbooks.

Stocks are on the decline (the DOW is almost under 10,000 again for the first time in 2 years) and all economists are pointing to a lull in the small progress the economy has made in the past months.

We need a new start in this country. We need a President that does not lie to the American people so blatantly about the reasons for war and then actually persuade people to believe those lies. Track Bush's statements about Iraq. He said in his '03 State of the Union that Saddam Hussein had, without a doubt, WMD's and there was an absolute connection to Al Qaeda. Both have been proven wrong by the 9/11 Commission Report and the Duellfer Report. So Bush has changed his wording. He now says that Saddam Hussein had the capability to make WMD's. Which he didn't as the UN has proved the sanctions were working. So now Bush is saying that we found viles of mustard, vx and anthrax. Those are not WMD's until they are weaponized and Saddam did not have those capabilities. There was no imminent threat.

I beg anyone here to dispute my last paragraph.

If you all were to know the real truth and stop watching the mass media and read alternative sources of news such as commondreams.org or watch foreign news such as Reuters and the BBC, you would all know what is truly going on. We are not safer today than we were 4 years ago thanks to our President.

Let us change now. Get off the horse in the middle of the war because the horse is dead.

Honestly I see a CC kid as President down the road.

I will be president ! I agree with you Jaug, also a lot of americans dont relize the grim reality of war since american media doesnt show them the real images only positive images.

I don't know about that, cause I my government class was able to talk to some soliders who went to our school a few years ago. We asked them a question about, the media, and are they giving the truth. He responded that they are giving the truth, but that there is alot more positive things going on over there, such as building schools, giving people jobs... ect, but that alot of it goes unnoticed. But remember most TV media stations are liberal: ABC,NBC,CNN,CNBC. The only one that is to the right is really Fox. But Fox is like extreme right, I don't even bother listening to them anymore. I'd say CSpann and BBC are close to the middle.

im running in 2032.
im serious

Well I guess you'll be up against me:-)

Actually, Kinglin...I must dispute that the media is liberal. Here is why:

Take a look at the 4 major mass media networks today: ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX. ABC is owned by Disney, NBC is owned by GE, CBS is owned by Viacom and FOX is owned by Newscorp. In an effort to seek out the ratings that FOX News is getting because of their slanted, right-wing views, all the other major networks have turned away from being so blatantly liberal and are more moderate to slightly conservative today.

This can be seen in the pictures they shove down our throats. The vast majority of them are nice pictures of happy people, except when a daily suicide bomb goes off in Baghdad and they only show us the smoke because seeing the bodies of multilated soldiers would be a downer.

Corporations are inherently conservative because a conservative President allows them to keep more of their revenues and add more sponsors because companies and corporations tend to thrive under those conditions of fewer taxes for the top 1%.

So, while the media is fairly moderate today, it is incorrect to say it is liberal.

P.S. I will be running too :)

Anyone who wants a rational case against giving the Bush administration another four years would do well to read the following--

Yea what jaug said is correct. But if you have not even seen a kid with a bullet going through his head and the blood coming out, you havent seen the worst. And for the soldiers, well not all of them are quite there. I have a friend who was pro Bush but I argued so much with him he somehow turned liberal. So now, I argue with him about kerry its kinda funny. Anywayz, he joined the military and hes in boot camp. I asked, Are they brainwashing you? That Bush is good? And he said "Yea" and hes trying to resist it. He says they learn daily of how gracious Iraqis are to have great people like the us come rescue them.

OBAMA for president anytime in the future?
