I am sorry - not sure where to ask this question so thought I'd start here.
D2's very close friend has been home on "terminal leave' till tomorrow afternoon when he must report back to his Army post for final training before being deployed in Sept or Oct.
What can I give this kid that he can take with him?? Phone card comes to mind. He has our prayers, my daughters heart and his mothers spirit. I'm feeling alittle "psycho mom" I need to do something for this kid.

Hope someone can answer soon. Thanks

The phone card would be good -- maybe check the rates -- Europe to US was about 10 to 1. So my 200 minute card lasted for about 18 minutes of real "call time". Send regular summaries of news from home, a monthly care package, photos.

Donations of time and/or money to Operation Support Our Troops.
Send food while he's in training. By this fall when he's deployed, you should be able to find out what the troops need most.
Lots and lots of mail - letters, sports reports, favorite comics.
And lots of thanks for his service to our country.
