(kinda) average black student, where do i apply??

gosh this is depressing. i guess good schools don't take B-C students. that's kind of wack. i'm definitely using u of i as my safety. i refuse to go to uic or depaul because theyare inferior to uiuc, depaul is too expensive, and i already live in downtown chicago. my high school is literally blocks from uic, which is really just outside of downtown, and i really really want a change of scenery.

man. this is hard.

You might be able to get into Florida State.
There are plenty of places that will take B/C students. The deciding questions will be can you afford them and will your parents let you go.

Florida state, I don't think so, if she were instate then yes but out of state would be difficult.

I would do a google search for universities for b students, I think University of arizona would be a good school but financially don't know if its in your price range.

She's going to be at least a National Achievement semi-finalist -- one of the top black students in the country based on her PSAT. She'll get into FSU even from out of state as long as she applies early. Her SAT scores and ACT scores also are above FSU's average.

Maybe - but those ranges are for in-state kids, I would suspect. Applying early and perhaps presenting credentials in person would help.

FSU is very responsive and nice (for a large school). Make an appointment, go see them.

I just got your screen name - 'follow the drinking gourd'. Cool. I like the sense of history, alive today.

OP: "(kinda) average black student, where do i apply?? ... prolly like a 2.6-2.9 (eek) unweighted GPA."

You will probably get into a better school than the majority of average 3.6-3.9 gpa students
