For the business management major, the King's College London website has the following for American students under entry requirements: "Three AP subjects with 555 including at least one Humanities or Social Science subject. Or SAT with a total score of 1900 with at least 600 in each section or the ACT with a score of 28 plus 3 SAT-S with a score of 600 in each"

Does this mean if I meet one of the requirements (I have a 2170 SAT with above a 600 in all sections) that I'll be admitted for sure?

Those are the minimum requirements for someone to be admitted. Meeting it doesn’t mean that you are guaranteed an offer of a place, but there’s a high chance that you will get an offer of a place.

If you’re still in high school, then any offer you will receive will be conditional upon you getting the stated grades, and you need to get those grades by 31st August in the academic year you apply. If you meet your offer, you’re guaranteed a place. If you miss your offer, they are under no obligation to take you, though they still might.

Don’t forget that you have to send in a UCAS application by 15th January at the absolute latest, and that you must include a personal statement. A personal statement is very, very different to a US college admissions essay, so make sure you do your research on what is required.

The admissions system is standardised for all UK universities, as all applications (with very few exceptions) must go through UCAS - which is a bit like Common App, but different. That means that the above information refers to all UK universities.

I think you may have misread the requirements.

If you have a 2170 SAT with above a 600 in all three sections, that’s great! But you will need more. You still need either:

1) At least three AP tests with scores of “5” on each.

OR

2) 3 SAT-S tests with scores of at least “600” on each.

I realize that the website wrote this rather badly, so it is a bit vague. But I can assure you that a college as prestigious as KCL will not take an American merely on the basis of their SAT score.

If you can get these requirements, then you will almost certainly be granted an interview. So once you have these requirements, concentrate on your statement and your interview.

Usually, students are given “conditional offers” because they apply before they have actually taken all their exams.
