So I will be a junior in the fall and living in a school run-apartment complex on campus, where my future roommates may or may not be living right now (I'm living with random people). Would it be weird to just knock on the door tomorrow to say hello? I haven't seen my room or know anything about it other than which one it is, and I'm just so curious!

There could even just be no one there, or subleasers, but if it is in fact someone I'll be living with during the year, do you think that'd be weird?

Just do it. Worst comes to worst, the people that answer are deranged axe murders, but that’s the absolute worst case scenario.

In all likelihood, they’ll be friendly regardless of whether or not you’re their roommate. If they are your roommates, great. Have a nice chat. If they’re not, oh well just say you were curious and wanted to find out.

People are generally chill, just explain to them why you are there and they will probably let you in. I mean I found my current house by going door to door and looking around.

At my school, it’s really common to do this, so a few days after I got my housing assignment one of my roommates and I went and looked at the house. The girl who answered the door actually gave us a really nice tour of the house and warned us about the stove, haha. The worst thing they can do it say no. More likely, they will be pretty friendly and will let you take a quick look around.
