<p>Success at Nationals; Mariners return home with All-American Honors</p>

Minnesota, MN - The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's swim team returned home on Sunday from a successful trip at the 2006 NCAA National Championship, hosted by Carleton College.</p>
<p>In addition to their luggage, the Mariners will be bringing home one third place finish, five All-American certificates, five new Academy records and a 21st place team finish, scoring the highest points (45) in head coach Sean Tedesco's tenure.</p>
<p>On the final day of competition, Senior Andrew Dunlevy finished 10th in the finals of the 1650-yard freestyle, earning him his third All-American certificate of the weekend. Dunlevy earned seven points for the Mariners swimming the mile in 15:57.96.</p>
<p>With his performance in the mile, Dunlevy also broke the Academy record for the 1,000-yard freestyle.</p>
<p>Kenyon College freshman Eric Dunn finished first in the event with a time of 15:22.21.</p>
<p>Dunlevy will leave Nationals as a four-time career All-American, while sophomore Jay Carpenter returns to Kings Point as a two-time career All-American.</p>
<p>The Mariners end the weekend in 21st place (45 points), five places and nine points ahead of academy rival, U.S. Coast Guard Academy.</p>
<p>The Blue and Gray also finished seven places ahead of the Rowan Profs (28th place, 31 points) and two places behind New York University (19th place, 46 points).</p>
