The dinghy sailing team competed in the Navy Fall 2 regatta at Cornell this past weekend coming in @6/7 out of 18 boats. Extremely shifty winds made it a sketchy time for the sailors.

The dinghy sailing team also completed in the Navy Fall regatta at Annapolis and did "very well" except for one race. I'll try to get specifics on that one and will post them later.

Locally, the Philadephia Navy Day Regatta (crew) was held on the Schuykill River. USMMA placed 5th out of 20 in the Men's College Four and 5th out of 17 in the Men's College Frosh. USNA placed first in both.

The sailors had a GREAT time and caught up with ole high school pals at Cornell. Now it's back to the books.....

You can always root for the soccer team. They just upset the #4 team in the nation last week and are on a roll in conference. The soccer team is always a good bet if you want to root on a winning team.

The following are the specs from Hobart website. Do notice that we beat Hobart in almost every division, along with a few other notables!!! Very impressive!!!!! Especially Division B - 4th place....Go KINGS POINT!!!

Did you ever think maybe football team is in the wrong conference. It is obvious they are not as strong or fast as the opposing teams. Obviously these kids can't be gym rats like these other teams with the schedules they have.

Not being "gym rats" is probably part of the problem. Our kids have much bigger fish to fry than to worry about where they place on a sports team; after all, it's not sports that are going to pay their bills. With that said, I think that there is too much emphasis placed on performing in sports at the college and high school level.....perhaps that's why the U.S. is behind a lot of other countries in their math and science scores...okay off my soapbox now!

During my sons 4 years at KP the football team went 21 wins and 19 losses against essentially the same, if not tougher opponents.. They even went 8-3 in 02.. So, that argument just doesnt wash..

Anybody here care to speculate on how long itll be before Coach Toop is asked to pack his dunnage and shown the gangway?

dd1 than why are they just not competitive at all. The difference in strength and speed is very obvious. It takes three of our guys to tackle one of the opposing players. At Kean game players were running so fast they ran out of their cleats. Toop is a KPer so I think they will remain loyal to him.

My plebe's dad said he got a chance to speak to the officials after the game on 10/6 at the waterfront. Apparently, in this league, alot of D1 players flunk out of their schools and get picked up by the schools in our league. Therefore, there are alot of D1 players on these D3 teams. I don't know if that is just recently, or has always happened.

I am not an expert at this football thing. I love to watch, any level, but I just don't see any passion in this team at all!! No one seems to give a crap about it--not the players, coaches, etc.

My plebe says it really isn't fun. He used to run to go to practice in HS and they sucked too! Now he says, the work out is just grueling. He used to be a workout freak! Now he says he just hates it!

I don't know...it must be pretty depressing just losing your shirt ALL THE TIME!

Why aren't we in the league that all the other teams are in? The one that plays Goucher and Cathollic?

I have been a high school football coach my entire adult life in a city known for nationally ranked teams and I know one thing for sure, This team wins half it games in this league when you get a coach the players RESPECT. PERIOD

seems to me I heard a number of 2nd classmen quit last year over something to do with the way the coach was handling matters...they were 3rd class at the time...

thought it was something about how they recruit...will get more details ...we have an all academy 5k run at Georgia Tech tomorrow...one of the parents will be there...

Just heard that the 4 man crew took 3rd place at the Head of the Charles race in Boston yesterday. They missed first by a mere 3 seconds.....:D GO KP!

Offshore sailing team raced at Annapolis over weekend
Apparently using slow Navy cruising type boats
No results as of today
The food at McGarveys Pub in Annapolis was pretty good
if not cheap
