I have to submit online advising for L&S in about a week, and although I'm pretty clear on my major pre-reqs I'm having trouble scheduling for the L&S breadth classes. Does anyone have any class recommendations? Anything from Arts and Literature, Biological Science, Historical Studies, International Studies, Philosophy and Values, or Social and Behavioral Sciences?

I'm planning on double-majoring in math & CS so although I would love to just take whatever sounds good, I would prefer somewhat easier breadths.

Thanks.

Note that there are math courses which satisfy PV (125A, 135) and HS (160). So these categories may be somewhat lower priority than the others if you want to major in math. SBS is probably not hard to fulfill, since many popular out of major courses in economics, political science, psychology, sociology, and history fulfill it.

ESPM C12 / English C77 can fulfill any one of AL, BS, or SBS. ESPM 50AC can fulfill any one of PV, HS, or SBS as well as AC. Taking courses that can cover one of many categories can give you more flexibility later.

What type of non-CS non-math subjects are you interested in? You can, of course, look at the listings here for ideas: [Office of Undergraduate Advising: 7 Course Breadth](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/requirement/7breadth.html)

Thanks for the feedback ucbalum. I’m not totally sure what other non-major stuff I’m interested in; I guess psychology and certain social sciences would be up there. I know I’ve had all that I can stand of English after HS though.

And sorry if this is a dumb question but how did you know which breadth categories that could be satisfied by a class?

Follow the link in post #2 to the list of courses that can satisfy each L&S breadth category. Courses may appear in the list for more than one L&S breadth category.
