Falconflyer-
Did you mean a notebook computer? All Freshmen are "issued" notebook computers after the completion of BCT and prior to the begining of classes. They are currently using Dell notebooks.

No, they just get their lab tops in chemistry class from the rack--they're on hangers. ;-)

I thought Cadets were issued or bought computers and software when they arrived at the Academy. Then when they graduated, they were able to take these with them. If not, do you know if they can bring their own PCs?

Cadets can't bring their own computers. They're issued LAP-tops at the academy.

Don't try to bring your own - at first at least - because everyone needs to have the same stuff and the same software etc (according to their website). Although, I did see that upperclassmen had flat screen monitors for their computers in their rooms during summer seminar.

You will be issued computers at the completion of BCT (which aren't free, I assure you, haha... but it gets taken out of money you don't see anyway, like so many other things here). Along with the notebooks themselves, you will get all of the necessary stuff (like mouse, surge protector, etc.). Later on (maybe a year+ down the road), if you choose to, you can buy additions for it or even a whole new computer on your own if you choose, but what you get isn't bad for a start.
