I have just started the MD course at the University of Malta (2nd semester now) & I can honestly say that i love the course as a whole & the material we study. I've always wanted to become a doctor & still do but I just can't come to terms with the amount of work which must be covered. I'm normally hard working but I just feel lost at the moment & it feels as though whenever I study something, I forget it quickly..any advice please? Just need to be constantly motivated to work, just finding it difficult atm. I there's anyone else in the same predicament as me, would be nice to hear what you have to say too. :)

Welcome to the world of medical education. So much to learn, so little time.

My MS1 says similar things (so much material to learn, so little time), but seems to be coping so far. Even thriving. Never seen her so happy overall in her life despite the brutal hours. (And occasional bad days.)

No one here can tell you how to motivate yourself. That has to come from within. But it sounds like you need to learn how to better balance different parts of your life–study, but find time to do things you enjoy. Maybe then you won’t feel quite so burnt out.
