LACs and linguistics programs

Are there any LACs out there known for good linguistics programs? Even if I don't major in linguistics, it's something I'm greatly interested in.

I know Swarthmore and Reed have linguistics, but I don't know where else.

And besides these, does anyone know of any small universities with good programs? I like the looks of what U Chicago has, but I'm afraid I might not like Hyde Park, and I've heard some negative things about UC's quality of life.

Check out Middlebury and Kenyon.

colgate
and Colgate has the reputation for only giving need based aid- however if they want you- I have seen them determine that students have need- when at other colleges they wouldn't.

There are some interesting lingustics opportunities at two of the Claremont Colleges: Pomona and Pitzer. Macalester has a good program as well.

I'm sorry, this isn't an LAC but UCSC has a great Linguistics program (one of the best in the country) and is a lot smaller than the other UC's. It's also much more focused on undergrads. Santa Cruz is beautiful too.

Brandeis is another small university with a good linguistics program.

Colgate doesn't have linguistics...

Grinnell has a small program, I think.
