LACs that would give me merit?

I need some safety-ish schools that would give me a decent amount of merit money. I'm looking at schools like Reed and Whitman, but I need a few good schools (preferably in the West) where I'm at the top of the applicant pool and will qualify for merit.

I'm thinking about like Lewis & Clark and Willamette University, but I don't know if I'd qualify for much merit aid. I won't qualify for ANY need-based aid. I'm also thinking about SeattleU for a safety.

Please help me find LACs or small-medium sized universities that would give me merit aid. O_O

Reed doesn't give merit aid.

Your math score is low. Most colleges give out merit aid to their 'superstars' who could attend other more prestigious institutions.

A 1900 SAT and a 29 ACT won't get you far.

BUT Columbia College in South Carolina, a small women's college gives a founder's scholarship to anyone with an ACt of at least 29.

<a href="http://www.columbiacollegesc.edu/admissions/factsheet_fresh_oc.asp%5B/url%5D">http://www.columbiacollegesc.edu/admissions/factsheet_fresh_oc.asp</a></p>

It's not actually full tuition, because a lot of your 'aid' will still be federal/loans/your parents' payments, but at least it's a guaranteed something.

full tuition for a 29? wow

^It's fake full tuition. They only pay the gap between your EFC and government grants. But it's a lot better than nothing.

You should get this one from Willamette:
Elmer and Grace Goudy Scholarship
Minimum 3.70 grade point average in solid subjects, 1300 Combined SAT or 29 ACT Composite.
$12,000 per year for a maximum of four years.
The Scholarship Selection Committee at Willamette selects recipients on the basis of information provided on the application for admission.
DD currently has this one. Are you sure you won't qualify for need based?
