Lafayette College Marquis Scholarships

What kind of stats (SAT scores) do you need to have to get one of the Marquis or Trustee scholarships at Lafayette College.
Also, do they award just the 60 & 30 to admitted students or is it offered to many of the students who applied but ended up at other schools?

The answer can be found at the end of the article.

I think the information is a little dated. We were told last year that a 1400 is the minimum to be considered for either scholarship.

This might be a bit dated as well as all schools this year have reported an increase in SAT scores.

I got the trustee scholarship... not sure what it is, but it sounds great =) I only had a 1380

Upennizzle... did you get that through ED? Or have you gotten it for RD already?

(or are you already in college?)

How much was it for?

Congrats.

I just got it today... I came onto the Lafayette board to check out if anyone else had a better idea of what it was. Today I received the whole admissions package, but they said that although it's a merit based grant it's also based on need (and it would be coming in in a few weeks or something). I did not apply for financial aid and I looked online that it was 7500-full based on aid.

Thank you for the congrats =)

My S received the Marquis Scholars letter today.
Wow!

My D recieved the Marquis Scholarship, and is planning to attend the scholar's day open house on April 1st. Is any one else attending the open house

I got the Marquis Scholarship, but I can't get around to the open house because thats the weekend my school's musical debuts, and I kind of sort of have to be there since I'm the lead. Hope your daughter has fun though 22frets, maybe you can post how it went, i'm interested to know. Congrats to your daughter

my daughter received the notice about being named a marquis scholar yesterday. we are all very excited. she probably will attend the april 1st scholar's day open house. does anyone know anyone who has participated in the marquis program?

it would be nice if a student who is currently participating in the marquis program would volunteer to answer questions about the program.

I got one and I'm probably gonna be going April 4th... I had a 1450 SAT but I know someone that got one with a 1290 SAT. This is probably pretty rare because it said in the pamphlet you usually need at least a 1350, but he must have had great other qualities besides SATs (He was accepted to BC early)

What other schools have our Marquis Scholars applied to?

My D Applied to BC, TCNJ, Bucknell, Duke UVA and Princeton.

you guys have recieved your acceptance letters already??

Swarthmore gave me an early write acceptance, and then I've also applied to:

Yale, Penn, Brown, Dartmouth, BC, Tufts, Franklin & Marshall, and Amherst

blazianazn...Congratulations :)

With a Swarthmore early write I guess Lafayette is not in your scope.

i'd actually prefer lafayette to swarthmore... don't ask why, i guess it's just a matter of personal comfort, plus the 16 grand lafayette would be fronting me would come it handy. but thanks... hopefully i find SOMEWHERE to go

have any non marquis scholars found out yet?
