Lafayette college senior interview

Hi everyone,

I am a senior this year and signed up for an interview at Lafayette College. If there are people out there who have interviewed at the campus, would you mind telling me some of the interview questions? I don’t want to get caught off guard by a question (worst nightmare).

Overall, what should I expect? It’s tomorrow btw…

Good luck! It depends on who is interviewing you, but in my experience it was pretty general. What did you do this summer? Why do you want to go to Lafayette? Things like that. Hope that helps!

I’m interviewing tomorrow too! My tour guide said the interview is very chill, but I’m so nervous!

Good luck! Hopefully, it is chill

My D interviewed at Lafayette a few years ago with an admissions officer on campus and it was fine – a very cordial discussion. She did bring a resume and that was a springboard for some conversation (if you don’t have a resume be prepared to talk about things you are doing in HS both in terms of academics and ECs). My D also had a couple of questions about the school ready (that couldn’t be answered by looking on the website), and knew some reasons why she was interested in the college and felt Lafayette was a particularly good fit for her.

If you haven’t interviewed anywhere before you can google “typical college interview questions” to get some ideas of things that are asked a lot but you are best off not scripting any answers. Just be yourself and you should be fine.

Good luck.

My son interviewed last spring and it was his first one and went really well. The Senior who interviewed him very nice–he had me in at the end to ask questions. I can’t remember specific questions but they talked about my son’s classes and activiitesand stuff he would likely be involved in at Lafayette. I remember my son was nervous and after he felt like it wasn’t that big of a deal. Good luck!

I interviewed a month or two ago and a senior currently going to the school was my interviewer. She was very nice and it literally was not even an interview, we just had a conversation about our lives basically, lol. I was so stressed when I got there but then I was like “lmao this is pretty chill, I can do this.”

The question I’m always terrified to get in job interviews is “what’s the last book you read?” – not because I don’t read, but because I read a) trash and b) never can remember the title or author, because see a)

I’m not proud of it, but it’s my guilty pleasure. There’s nothing to say if they ask that other than the truth. And hope they’re not literature snobs…

Tell me a story . . . .

I really liked doing my interview at lafayette; it was pretty laid-back and pretty much just a conversation
