Lafayette, Muhlenberg, Clark, Wooster, Dickenson, Denison, Elon??

Thanks, Lucie. In your research on merit scholarships, did you discover any differences between these schools?

From what I’ve read, a student would place highest on Elon’s applicant range, but because Elon’s price tag is around $40,000, it doesn’t give (or need to give) very much merit aid, mostly awards around $5000. Dickenson would give the least money, because the same applicant would fall lower in its range, and the school doesn’t award merit money in the same manner as the other schools.

The rest of these schools look to be more or less comparable in this regard. Have you been able to find more insight?

John, I really haven’t gotten beyond what you already know. I think that’s why it’s important to cast the net as wide as possible when you’re looking for merit awards. My oldest is a rising senior, so we’re just going through the process too. Hopefully somebody else with actual experience will comment.

Have you tried going to the financial/merit aid pages on the various schools’ websites to see if you can get more specific info?
