Lafayette vs Bucknell vs Northeastern vs RPI

Hi guys,

I plan on studying electrical engineering but I also want to try civil engineering. I am torn between these four schools. Money doesn’t matter because I recieved a scholarship. Can anyone provide insight on these schools?

Any advice?

Bucknell is the most conservative, preppy, hard-partying/Greek college, opportunity to branch out through LAC philosophy of exploring subjects. Competitive, intellectually curious students, strong academic background.
Lafayette is a more moderate Bucknell, although it’s preppy and Greek and LAC etc.
RPI is a tech school, if you’re really into engineering and don’t want to take 10 classes in other subjects, it’d work best for you. Not too much variety in student profiles, lopsided gender ratio.
Northeastern’s appeal is the co-op system. It means students are heavily preprofessional (in college to get a job, not too humanities-oriented so less variety in student profiles) and 1/3 or your friends may be gone at any moment. You earn money and have real responsibilities during co-op, so if that appeals to you it’s the best choice. Also: Boston!

Wow very insightful! Thank you!
