Language Requirement

I'm only required to take two years of a foreign language although I know that for top schools 3-4 years is recommended. I really want to take French as my foreign language but due to my schedule, I would only be able to take two years. FLVS (Florida virtual school) doesn't offer French classes and I don't think I'll be able to dual enroll. Assuming the rest of my application is up to par, will I not get accepted at top schools because I only have two years of a foreign language? What can I do to make up for it?

Most colleges’ foreign language recommendations/requirements are more flexible than their other requirements. They realize that a lot of applicants face schedule conflicts, etc., so they are a little more lenient in this field.

Thanks, do you think taking 2 or 3 years of Spanish or Latin online would help or would it not be worth it?
