Does Rice have a foreign language requirement?

No.

(10char)

For me, thats one more reason to choose Rice. I would rather never take another French class again.

But I will end up taking Latin still because I love Latin :)

Of course, endgame, there’s nothing stopping you from taking an entirely new language at Rice. I got bored of Spanish when I was in high school, but now I’ve taken two years of Mandarin Chinese.

the fact that at rice i will never have to take another foreign language, science, or english (i’m gonna make sure i pass that essay this summer) class unless i want to, which is basically impossible, is a huge reason i’m going there

actually science isn’t that bad, i kinda like science, i just hate the labs

so what classes are you taking? lol

Hey, how are the Mandarin classes? I’m not sure whether I should take Mand. or Japanese. I’m kinda getting bored with Mand., but that’s probably because I haven’t paid that much attention to it.

^You can practice (Mandarin) with me!

Oh, they’re fine, but don’t worry too much yet about what classes you’re going to take. O-Week will have plenty of time for schedule planning and academic advising.

@Modulation… I am going to China this year and will probably learn some Mandarin…

I think I might practice with you ;)

Sounds good!

I’ll practice with u2 :D

U2 as in the band with Bono or u2 as in You two?

Bonooooo.nono. u2 as in you(both of you ‘you’), too. Are you as pumped as I am to get to Rice?

Orrrr, u2 as in “you too” =]
