Language/Spanish summer programs?

I have a friend who is looking for some sort of language program for the summer. He loves Spanish, but next year will take French and Spanish. Any ideas?

I did MMLA once (when it was partnered with CTY) and it was awesome. I was in Spanish and I learned sososososososososo much! Complete immersion + language classes. It was great. I would probably stay away for it if he’s already in 10th this year though…at least the one that I went to was kind of for younger kids. The rules were fairly Draconian. However, I’m pretty sure he can find a site for older kids (maybe one from 10-12) so I recommend looking into it for sure, but if he realizes that he’s at the maximum age, the camp might not really be fun for him… if that makes any sense…

Unfortunately you can’t do both of the languages at once. He would have to pick one.

Doing this program is a great way to get fluent quickly without paying so much $$ to go abroad. Plus you actually get to take classes and have fun, and if there is a real emergency, everyone around you actually speaks English. safety:)

Tell your friend to give it a shot!
