im currently studying spanish in college but is it advantageous to switch to Portuguese because it will set me apart in the workforce...im looking to go into management consulting

or Italian? my school has a pretty easy italian program and would having fluency in italian be helpful in the workplace or beneficial in getting a job at all?

If there’s a demand for fluent Portuguese or Italian speakers, then yes, you’ll be highly-sought after. Although most – if not all – Portuguese and Italian firms conduct their international (and probably domestic) business in English. I am skeptical that learning Portuguese or Italian will “set you apart from the crowd.”

hmm thanks for the response

i guess ill stick with spanish for now, with the hopes of taking 4 years of it and maybe learning portuguese over a summer or two
