Laptop for engineering?

So I took a tour around Lafayette and had my chat with a professor, and I felt in love with with it. I will see everyone this fall :).

Now I need to pick a laptop and wonder how much graphic and processing power do I need to do school related work. And do they allow Mac. I will be major in EE.

Thanks!

we allow mac. i have a mac and am in love with it. i am a mechE btw

Either OS will do - most of your engineering related software will mainly be available in the labs, so your laptop will mostly be for word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

Not sure if you already purchased a laptop, but I emailed the director of engineering at lafayette to see if she suggests a certain type of computer. She said get whatever is comfortable to the student. The type doesn’t matter at all. If you get a mac and need a pc, she said we can use the pcs in the library and vice versa.

Thanks. I actually got a 15" Macbook pro already. It can boot both Windows and Mac. :)
