Laptop Operating system

I have my eye on a nice laptop. It meets/exceeds all the hardware requirements listed on GT's website. However, there is one problem with it.

Its operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium. The GT website says this is regards to recommended operating systems.

"Operating System
Microsoft Windows XP Professional; or Windows Vista Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate.
This software is included with a new computer purchase"

It doesn't list Windows Vista Home Premium. I did a little research and it doesnt seem like home premium is too different from the other systems listed. Does anyone have any idea if Windows Vista Home Premium will be compatable at Georgia Tech, or should I look for another laptop?

I seriously doubt you will have any compatibility issues. If worse comes to worse, you can upgrade your operating system. But I seriously doubt you will have any problems with Vista Home Premium.

I agree with Flipper.

i use winXP…

I don’t really know why you would need one OS over another. The networking capabilities in Vista Home should work fine at GT.

There’s nothing wrong with Home Premium. But, if you’re in the least bit hesitant, just take a CS course. You’ll automatically be registered for MSDN Academic Alliance, which lets you legally download Vista Business for free.
