I was wondering what kind of laptop I should get for college (i.e. monitor size, memory, storage space). I am going to be majoring in engineering and I plan to use it for web surfing and gaming.

13" or 15" MacBook Pro. (I have the 13" one and it’s great, only downside is in my opinion it dies pretty fast) also if possible an accompanying iPad for syncing notes through apps like Notability is great.
Some schools will list recommended specifications for laptops. Often engineering departments will have their own requirements. Depending on the type of engineering, you might need a dedicated graphics card which might (or not) rule out Mac computers.
Once you meet the requirements, the choice is driven by budget constraints and OS preference. Pay careful attention to build quality.
