<p>a wireless router is good. i def needed it last year but apparently theyre trying to get wireless to the dorm rooms (esp around wolman). itll make working away from your desk a lot easier. a long battery life would be good esp if you lug your laptop to most of your classes. surge protector is a must. for HDD, just make or buy an external. its so much easier and cheaper. a smaller, powerful but lighter laptop is probably ideal. i.e. i got the dell xps m1210.</p>
