Besides sciences, which subjects have the most large intro courses? When i say large I mean 200+ student lecture halls at big public U's.

both my macro and micro classes were 500+ lectures

I've had 200+ (sometimes 300+) in these courses:

Human Anatomy & Physiology
Intro Sociology
Intro Psychology
Intro Marketing
Fundamental Finance
Operations & Supply Chain Mgmt
Mgmt Info Systems
Financial and Managerial Accounting
Micro and Macro Economics
Intro Human Nutrition
Legal Environment of Business

Some of these have also had recitation sections, which makes things easier to ask questions, get help, etc. Personally, I enjoy the anonymity of big lectures most of the time, and it forces you to learn to care for yourself in the academic world.

I would guess that most of the more common intro courses (exclude Swahili) are large lectures; beyond that it probably depends on the majors more popular at a given university.

World History (1 & 2)
Fundamentals of Chem (1 & 2)
Intro to Psych
Pre-Calc
These are the ones I had with 200+. i've also had a couple that I would estimate being between 100-200.

Intro to most things.. The general Ed courses that everyone takes- Intro to Psych, Intro to Cultural Anth, Chem, Music/Dance Appreciation, Intro to Poli Sci..

My largest class (Engineering Chemistry) so far will take place in the fall and that will have 30 students O-o...

My intro Econ class had 800 (PSU)

It may be easier to list the subjects that typically have smaller intro courses - foreign languages, English, practical music/art/dance (not history or theory).

Almost all intro classes at big public U's likely have large class sizes.

At my school my only "large" classes this year (>50) were micro & macro economics (300 students in each class), but this is at a smaller private.

i like big classes, that's why i ask. What about sociology?

My soc class had about 300 people.

My introductory psych course had 500+ people. Econ 2 had 309 people (and this is the class for economics majors, the Econ 1 had almost 700).

My science classes were pretty epic, though =P

Wow and I thought a class of 90 was big......
