Laser vision correction....

^ I believe it's 20/360

**** that bad :(

My contacts are -8.00 and -8.50, so I definitely win. I'm planning on getting laser vision correction when I turn 20. I'm asking for it as a joint birthday and Christmas gift. I have had the same opthalmologist for several years. He is a very experienced surgeon and I trust him, so I am not worried about complications.

^^hey now I still win, at -9 and -9.5 for my contacts...lol. No one ever beats me.

I got glasses in kindergarten, then contacts in third grade in hopes of slowing down the worsening of my eyes....but it didn't work. Since I turned 18, they've slowed down slightly, but I still have to have them upgraded about once a year. Once I'm out of college, I'm looking into surgery.

Does anyone else hate fumbling around in the middle of the night for their glasses when they wake up because they cant see a damn thing in the dark???

I have news...my vision is worse than all of yours :p

Well some of you up there in the -7s,8s,9s.... do you actually see anything besides blur?

Can you see anything further than a CM from your eye?

I have -3.5 and feel blind as a bat. =(

Yeah, having 20/900 vision must be awful. I have a prescription of -4.25 (L) and -5.5 (R) and things get clear about a foot from my face...

I'm definitely planning on looking into vision correction surgery after college.

I have -1.5 in both eyes. I'm getting contacts, but do you guys think I should even consider corrective surgery?

I mean, my eyes aren't all that bad... but I don't want to put discs in my eyes or wear glasses any time I need to see. Will corrective surgery be worth it?

Yeah, as long as your cornea's are thick enough, lasik is well worth it... with a mere -1.5 you could very likely be corrected beyond 20/20.

I have my clock about 5 inches from my bed at night, and if I squint really hard I can usually make out the glowing green numbers...so no, not really, can't see alot, have no chance of ever reading anything. Thats why contacts/glasses are my favorite invention!!!

I'm -12 in both eyes . So yeah I'm about as blind as they come.

Yikes, Celebrian! Your glasses must be 2 cm thick!!! And I thought I was blind...

I don’t really use my eyes when I get up to go to the bathroom at night. I don’t have a nightlight, and I don’t bother turning on the lights, so I basically feel my way to the door. :)

Well, you know, one thing that’s made my eyes worse in the last year is CC!

I wear glasses, too. I don't know my prescription, but I've needed to wear glasses since as far back as 3rd grade. My eyes are pretty bad, and they don't seem to be getting better. Lately, I've thought a lot about surgery. Glasses are a pain. I have hated my dependence to them, the circles under my eyes that's developed because of them, and how decieving they are in terms of image. But, I do have my fears about surgery. There's always a risk, and I think that the risk of blindness or serious, permanent injury is too great of a one at that. So, I'll wait and see.
